AFS is... an international movement of volunteers that has invented the student exchanges with foreign countries for high school students (go and read about AFS history). Through these exchanges AFS wants to improve the dialogue between people of different cultural traditions and the understanding between them. The ideal goal of AFS is to contribute to peace in the world by enlarging the knowledge between young people of different cultures.

    AFS has associations in more than 60 countries and organises student exchanges of different periods of time: from four weeks to a year.

    Intercultura is the Italian AFS born in 1955. Today it counts about 3000 volunteers, gathered in 90 local chapters.
